Wuthering Heights

The estate of Wuthering Heights sits on a hill in the rugged Yorkshire countryside. It lies defenceless against the wind, which blows harder here than anywhere else. Its owner, the kind-hearted Mr Earnshaw, takes in the foundling Heathcliff. Earnshaw's daughter Cathy soon falls madly in love with him. But their love ends in tragedy, and a web of revenge and betrayal is woven around the estate. Emily Brontë's classic dark love story, set in a romantic and untamed landscape, remains one of the most intense reads to this day.
